Associate of Applied Science
Purpose
Statement
The purpose of the General Studies Associate Degree is to prepare students
for further study at four-year colleges and universities. It provides
core coursework in areas such as natural sciences, mathematics, communication,
humanities & visual and performing arts, social and behavioral sciences,
and basic computers.
The Business concentration
is designed either to be a general business degree or to provide the foundation
for completion of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
The associate degree gives students a general introduction to several
aspects of business, including basic business concepts, accounting, and
economics.
