Purpose
Statement
The Dental Assisting Program is competency-based and will teach the appropriate
skills, knowledge and perspectives needed to succeed within the dental
assisting field. Students will be given the opportunity to attain competency
in oral and written communications as well as skills specific to the workplace.

Special Admissions
To be considered for admission to the Dental Assisting Program at LSC-0,
a student must
- be accepted as a student at Lamar State College-Orange;
- possess a high-school diploma or GED certificate;
- be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age;
- complete the Dental Assisting Student Data Sheet;
- complete Employment History Form and;
- submit a completed Health
Data Form before going to a clinical facility
(see dental assiting program director).
