Associate of Science

Purpose Statement
This degree is recommended for students who plan to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. This is a recommended curriculum only. Some courses may be taken in different order, and students do not have to complete the degree in four semesters. Students in remediation will require a different course sequence. All interested students should see the Liberal Arts Division Chair or program advisor for a degree plan.

Admissions
The student is responsible for completing the admission procedure for Lamar State College - Orange by submitting:

  • application for admission to Lamar State College - Orange
  • an OFFICIAL high school transcript or GED Certificate
  • OFFICIAL transcript(s) of all college work completed at other colleges or universities
  • a copy of driver's license and
  • a copy of your Social Security card
  • must take the TASP test or approved alternative exam, or be exempt
