ASSET is an approved alternative
placement test to THEA and the preferred placement test at Lamar State
College – Orange. Entering LSC-O students
who are not otherwise exempt must take the ASSET or COMPASS prior to
registration. ASSET may be used for initial placement as well as retesting.
To
schedule a test, call the Testing Office at (409)882-3330 or visit the
office in room 104 of the Ron E. Lewis Library. Cost of the exam is $17
and must be paid prior to testing. During registration a student can generally
receive results for the reading and math sections of the ASSET immediately,
be advised and register in one day if the student has already been accepted
for admission.
