NOTES

1. *A total of six hours (HIS 1301 and HIS 1302) may be awarded for successful completion of the U.S. History CLEP exams; however, a student must take three additional hours of classroom instruction in American history to satisfy the state requirements for graduation.

2. **The composition and literature exams require the optional essay test before receiving credit at Lamar State College-Orange.

3. **The amount of credit awarded for Freshman College Composition is determined by the quality of the essay; either 0 hours, 3 credit hours in ENG 1301 or 6 credit hours in ENG 1301 and 1374.

4. ***The subject examinations for General Biology and General Chemistry will not meet the lab science requirement. No lab is available. These may be used for elective requirements only.

5. ****After passing the Information Systems and Computer Applications CLEP exam, a student must then demonstrate competency on a program or package usage test in the Computer Science Department before receiving credit for one or two of the following three-hour courses: COSC 1371 or CS 1311 at Lamar State College-Orange.
