Academic advising is necessary to ensure that all students are in compliance
with state TASP and Lamar State College-Orange policies. Participation
in continuous academic advising is vital to students' academic successes.
Thus, students are expected to participate in the advising process throughout
their careers on the Lamar State College-Orange campus. All first-time
students, students with fewer than 15 credit hours, students with undecided
majors, and students who have not completed TASP requirements are required
to register through the Advising and Counseling Center.
After successful completion
of TASP and 15 credit hours, students are assigned faculty advisors by
the Academic Affairs Office. Continuing students should meet with their
faculty advisors at least once every semester to review their academic
progress and to ensure that all prerequisites and program requirements
are being met.
