Administrative Assistant
Certificate
Purpose Statement
This program consists
of a core of administrative courses designed to develop basic skills and
various specialized courses. In addition to basic keyboarding and office
skills, student will receive training in accounting, oral and written
business communications, personal development, and computer operations,
which will include a variety of software packages. Administrative assistants
perform administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors.
Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities
and strong communication skills.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS - LAMAR
STATE COLLEGE-ORANGE
Submit to Lamar State College-Orange
- application for admission
to Lamar State college-Orange;
- an official high-school
transcript or GED Certification;
- original transcripts of
all college work completed at other colleges or universities;
- a copy of driver's license;
and
- a copy of your social security
card

Information
Students must
meet these requirements for graduation with a certificate of completion:
- satisfy all admission requirement;
- complete an approved certificate
or institutional award plan;
- have at least a 2.00 grade
point average on all courses submitted on the certificate or institutional
award plan;
- attain no lower than a
"C" in each and every class in the major field of study; and
- have at least 60 percent
of semester credit hours in residence at Lamar State College-Orange.
NOTE: All technical certificate
programs are TASP exempt, except Administrative Assistant, Medical Administrative
Assistant, Vocational Nursing, and Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic.
